Frequently Asked Questions
When do lessons start?
Students may begin lessons at any time; there is no need to wait for the start of a class session.
How often should I come for lessons?
Most students take lessons once a week and that is how our tuition plans are structured. Some students take lessons twice a week, and in that case the same lesson plans apply they are simply used up in half the time.
What if I have to miss a lesson?
We require 48-hour notice for lesson cancellation and offer makeup lessons within 30 days of the missed lesson. See Scheduling & Cancellation for details.
Am I locked in to my time slot for my entire lesson package?
No, with private lessons you have the flexibility to change your time slot based student and teacher availability.
Do students need to bring an instrument to class?
Students need to bring their own instrument in order to get the most out of lessons with the exception of drums and piano.
How do I choose a teacher?
For beginning students any of our teachers would be a great for getting started. If you are an experienced player who wishes to focus on a certain technique or style then we will work to arrange lessons with the most appropriate teacher.
Do you offer trial lessons?
We do offer trial lessons for new students. The trial lessons are 30-minutes in length and give the students an opportunity to meet the teacher and experience a lesson. The only requirement we have for trial lessons is the prepayment of the registration fee of $35. See Registration for more information on how to reserve your trial lesson.
