Tuition

We offer lesson packages based on one lesson per week. Save 5% off tuition when purchasing an 8 week package or 10% when purchasing a 16 week package.

Registration

The registration process for new students is:

1. Select date and time for your 30 minute trial lesson
2. Pay the one-time registration fee of $35*; this is required to hold your trial lesson reservation.
3. Optional: Select lesson package and enroll in auto-debit. (You may also do this after your trial lesson.)

*Registration Fee

• Registration fee is $35 for the first student, and $10 for each additional student from the same family.
• Registration fee payment is required to reserve your trial lesson date and time.
• Registration fees are non-refundable.

One-Month Trial

Adjusting to a new instrument or teaching style can take time. For this reason, we recommend that new students commit to trying lessons for a full month in order to get used to their instrument and teacher. We offer new students the option of a one-month trial package. This package costs the same as our 4-week package but you may discontinue lessons at the end of the month without providing the advance notice normally required by our discontinuation policy. You can purchase the One-Month Trial package when you register for your initial trial lesson.

As an additional incentive, if you purchase a lesson package and like us on Facebook prior to your first lesson, we will give you a $10 credit towards your lesson package.

Scheduling & Cancellations

Lessons are scheduled in a weekly time slot based on student and teacher availability. You can change your regular time slot as needed.

We require 48 hours advance notice for all cancellations. Lessons not cancelled within 48 hours will be charged for the amount of the lesson, as we are required to pay our instructors for their time. Students may take up to four makeup lessons per calendar year. Make-up lessons must be taken within 30 days of the missed lesson.

Elmhurst Music Academy is closed for 2 weeks during the holiday season, so you don’t need to worry about canceling or scheduling makeup lessons for this period. Check with your teacher for dates.

We understand that there are times when advance notification is not possible, and we are willing to work with those who are faced with extraordinary circumstances (natural disasters, sudden emergencies, death in the family, etc.)

Billing

We offer the following options for billing:

Monthly Auto-Debit
You can pay for any package in monthly installments that are automatically billed to your credit card. You can also contact us if you would prefer to set up auto-debit from a checking account.

8-Week Installments
You will receive an invoice in advance for the upcoming 8 weeks of lessons. Most students on this plan bring a check to class, but we can also set up auto-debit on an 8-week cycle.

Our billing cycle is based on 16-week sessions. You may start lessons at any point in a session. If you start in the middle of a session you pay just for the number of lessons remaining in the current session and start monthly auto-debit or 8-week installments at the start of the next session.

Discontinuing Lessons

We require one month written notice to suspend or discontinue lessons. If, for example, you would like to discontinue lessons in May, we need your written notice on the first of April. If no notice is given by the first lesson of the month before lessons are suspended or discontinued, then you will be responsible for the next month’s full tuition.

Refund Policy

We are so sure that you are going to like your lessons that your lessons that if you aren’t satisfied after your first paid lesson, that we will refund you the difference less the registration fee before your scheduled second paid lesson. Refunds are only available prior to your second paid lesson.
